Research published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology suggests that Indomethacin (Tivorbex), a drug used to stop pre-term labor, could actually cause birth injuries and fetal brain damage which could develop into cerebral palsy. The article attributes this to Indomethacin limiting blood flow to the fetus.
Indomethacin it commonly used to prevent very premature births, but some doctors may also choose to use it later in pregnancy, not knowing the possible lifelong health risks it could cause the unborn child.
